Day 14 of Water Only Fasting

The big event on my schedule today was my blood draw at 8 a.m. Once a week, they monitor your blood work to ensure that certain markers, such as electrolytes, are still at normal levels. The phlebotomist here is amazing. I’ve never given blood and not felt the needle stick before meeting her.

I spent much of the day outside meeting and speaking with others here. I spoke with a gentleman here for the second time. The first time he was here, he had a list of issues such as high blood pressure and diabetes. He could get off both his diabetes and hypertension medications before he left. He came back the second time for a tune-up as he noticed his blood pressure was starting to creep up. He showed me pictures of his beautiful garden back home, which made me jealous. I go through pounds of fresh produce each week and would love the taste of fresh fruits and veggies.

Late in the afternoon, I got a new suite mate. Each suite has three rooms with a shared common area, a refrigerator with cold water inside, and a kettle for hot water. The man who moved in next door has been to True North three times. He is here for a 7-day tune-up. He comes here because he likes the time to get away and reset from his everyday life without distractions.

At the end of this day, I am two-thirds of the way to my goal. It helps me to see the end is so close.
