Water Only Fasting- Day 2 of re-feeding

Today was a lot like yesterday, with 4 glasses of juice and two laps around the block. The target for the juices is around 600 calories to bring our bodies out of ketosis, but with no fiber. My energy is coming back slowly. I also started using toothpaste and moisturizer on my face. Exciting.

I want to be healthier, but there is no way I could eat a whole-food plant-exclusive diet.

There are plenty of other things you can do:

     1. Eat plants at every meal—ensure that every breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack has at least a veggie and/or fruit. It is easy to add plants to foods you already eat: fruit compote on pancakes or French toast; riced cauliflower to oatmeal; beans and bulger wheat to chili; veggies and lentils to spaghetti sauce. You can chop veggies up finely and add them to your soups and sauces, and no one will know the difference. The fiber in plant foods is important to our digestive health. It lowers cholesterol and feeds our microbiome. Only 5% of Americans meet the daily minimum requirement for fiber, which is 25 grams for females and 38 grams for males per day. Are you one of the 5%?

     2. Make animal products a condiment and not the star of the show—This is a win-win: by the end of the month, you will find more money in your wallet and more fiber and nutrients in your body. If you look at the cuisines of many other countries, for example, Chinese food, you will notice many things can go into each dish, including veggies, noodles, rice, and spices. The emphasis is on flavor and color, which is the meal’s star.
