Water Only Fasting- Day 5 of re-feeding

Today was my official day to reintroduce steamed veggies, light soups, small amounts of dressing, and starches such as potato or squash. Raw veggies are still challenging for me, as they are just not appealing. Meals are taking me over an hour to eat and if you know me, that is not normal. Meals are long and leisurely, as we are to slow down and chew to stimulate our digestive tract. The long time eating has allowed me to meet people. I appreciate the good conversation as there are many interesting people here.

The cooking class today was all about desserts. Cathy made a rice pudding and a raw apple pie. I could taste both after the class, but they were not something I would make as they did not taste that good to me. I like dessert, but I like savory foods more.

It was a much cooler day today, in the lower 70s, but the humidity was over 70%. I did take advantage of this by going for an hour-long walk after a brief unexpected rain shower. I decided to explore a trail I saw at the edge of the historic cemetery which led me to older gravestones and Asian grave markers. I walked a loop around the new cemetery and on my way back to the other side; I did a double take and then a quick search to verify that Mr. Ripley of the Ripley’s Believe it or Not books is indeed buried in Santa Rosa.
