I am a Clinical Pharmacist (Pharm D), certified health coach, and lifestyle medicine expert. Enhancing patient health through lifestyle changes and developing healthy habits is my passion. As Hippocrates said, “Let food be thy medicine.” With healthy lifestyle changes, I believe that people can reduce or prevent the need for medications.

About Me

My journey to Lifestyle Medicine has been an evolution. I have been a Clinical Pharmacist for over 20 years. In the thousands of patients I have talked to concerning their health, I repeatedly noticed that people accepted that their health would worsen over time. Most people were not given any direction on what they could do to improve their health. Many were told by their doctors to reduce their cholesterol but were not told how to best do so.  My job was to get patients to take their medications and educate them about the medications and their health conditions.  

In my own health journey, I have always been overweight and went from periods of healthier eating and activity to periods of weight gain and inactivity. I never found any healthy habits that stuck for the long term and felt that being a vegetarian all my adult life meant that I was eating healthy foods. 

Once I discovered the power of whole-food plant-exclusive eating, my personal and professional life slowly transformed. To start my transformation, I came upon Chef AJ’s book The Secrets to Ultimate Weight Loss. This led me to The Starch Solution by Dr. John McDougall. Opening a small window into the power of food to transform one’s health, I also opened a treasure trove of information. 

I eventually attended the International Plant-Based Nutrition Healthcare Conference and passed the exam to become certified in Lifestyle Medicine through the American Academy of Lifestyle Medicine.  I also became certified as a Health Coach through the Food Revolution Network (FRN).  

I am working on my own health transformation by applying my newfound knowledge in the six lifestyle areas: whole-food plant-based nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, social connection, and avoidance of risky substances. I shed over 80 pounds and ran a 5K race. Professionally, I am transitioning to providing accessible health information and health coaching. I want to help people understand that what they do each day matters. When it comes to their health, every day is a new opportunity.
